I membri dell’Academy hanno voluto dare un segnale a Netflix e all’industria cinematografica con queste nomination agli Oscar? Domina infatti Warner Bros Discovery al centro della trattativa con Netflix, con Sinners – I Peccatori e Una battaglia dopo l’altra (su HBO Max) rispettivamente con 16 (nuovo record superando i 14 di Eva contro Eva, Titanic e La La Land) e 13 nomination. Ma in qualche modo hanno premiato anche la scelta di Netflix di far uscire film al cinema con 9 nomination a Frankenstein, 4 a Train Dreams e 2 a KPop Demon Hunters. La cerimonia ci sarà il 15 marzo.

La sorpresa più grande è il record di 16 nomination per Sinners – Peccatori, difficile prevederlo. Non sorprende ma va segnalata la nomination a Wagner Moura primo brasiliano a vincere il Golden Globe e primo nominato come miglior attore per The Secret Agent. Sorprende la nomination come miglior film per F1, mentre in negativo sorprendono le mancate nomination ad Ariana Grande, a Guillermo Del Toro, a Dwayne Johnson e a Paul Mescal.
