Oscar 2026: tutto secondo previsioni. La serata è stata giudicata piacevole da molti critici americani, grazie alla guida di Conan O’Brien (che a quanto ha lasciato intendere non dovrebbe/vorrebbe più ricoprire questo ruolo) e alle sue battute sull’attualità e sui colleghi. Le reunion tra i presentatori e i loro sketch hanno contribuito ad alleggerire il clima.
Tutto come previsto alla vigilia, compresa l’assenza di Sean Penn che non ha ritirato l’Oscar come miglior non protagonista per Una battaglia dopo l’altra. Il film di Paul Thomas Anderson, miglior regista, ha vinto come miglior film, sceneggiatura non originale, Anderson è diventato il nono a vincere miglior film, regia e un Oscar per la sceneggiatura. In totale il film si è portato a casa 6 statuette, 4 per Sinners e a gioire è Warner Bros che ne ha avute 11. Seconda piazza per Netflix con 7 premi tra cui il miglior film d’animazione per KPop Demon Hunters e 3 premi tecnici per Frankenstein.
Nessuna sorpresa sul fronte attori con Jessie Buckley prima irlandese a conquistare un Oscar per Hamnet, Michael B. Jordan per Sinners, il già citato Sean Penn e Amy Madigan per Weapons. Il primo Oscar per il casting, introdotto quest’anno, è andato a Una battaglia dopo l’altra. Come era prevedibile Marty Supreme è stato ignorato. Tra le sorprese il premio al documentario Mr. Nobody Against Putin visto che alla vigilia davano gli altri The Perfect Neighbor, Come See Me in the Good Light e The Alabama Solution come favoriti. Altra sorpresa il pareggio tra due corti live action The Singers e Two People Exchanging Saliva, è la settima volta che avviene un pareggio nella storia degli Oscar.
