I Television Critics Association Awards (TCA Awards) 2023 vedono il trionfo di Succession e The Bear che prendono due premi ciascuno. I TCA Awards normalmente arrivano al culmine dei vari incontri fatti dai critici con attori e personalità dei vari show, ma quest’anno gli scioperi hanno cancellato questi incontri. Ma non i premi che anticipano un po’ il trend dei futuri Emmy (rimandati a data da destinarsi).
Così Succession vince la serie dell’anno e il miglior drama per il secondo anno di seguito. La prima stagione di The Bear (la seconda è uscita negli USA ma dopo la chiusura del periodo dei premi quindi rientra in gioco il prossimo anno, in Italia uscirà il 16 agosto) ottiene il premio come miglior novità e miglior comedy. Vincono anche Natasha Lyonne per Poker Face e Rhea Seehorn per Better Call Saul come miglior attori in una commedia e in un dramma. Jury Duty vince come miglior reality anche se è difficile inquadrarla come un reality visto che la serie vede una persona credere di stare in una vera giuria in un vero processo ma in realtà è circondato da attori.
Ms. Marvel ha vinto nei programmi per famiglie, Beef come miniserie o film, Mel Brooks è stato premiato con un riconoscimento alla carriera e il The Carol Burnett Show ha vinto l’Heritage Award. Di seguito tutti i vincitori e i nominati, in grassetto il vincitore di ogni categoria.
